About Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (“Blade of Demon Destruction”) is a Japanese manga written and Demonstrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. It was published in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, and its chapters were compiled into 23 tankobon volumes.
It has been released in English by Viz Media and concurrently on the Manga Plus Platform by Shueisha.There are currently four seasons of Demon Slayer available.
The story begins with a teenage boy, Tanjiro Kamado, who decides to become a demon slayer after his family is killed and his sister is turned into a demon.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Season 1
This season of Demon Slayer, produced by Ufotable, aired from April to September 2019.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is set in a world during Japan’s Taisho era. In this period, humanity lives in secrecy and battles demons – transformed humans who possess supernatural abilities such as enhanced strength, rapid regeneration, and unique powers known as “Blood Demon Arts.”
A village boy named Tanjiro Kamado lives with his family in a snowy region. One day, a demon kills his family and turns his sister into a demon. To find a cure for his sister, he decides to become a demon slayer. Giyu Tomioka, arrives and sends Tanjiro to see his master to the Mt. Sagiri.
On the way to Mt. Sagiri, Tanjiro and Nezuko encounter and defeat the Temple Demon. They then meet Urokodaki, who agrees to train Tanjiro. Urokodaki gives some to task to Tanjiro to complete. For final task, Tanjiro must slice a boulder with his sword.
To become a demon slayer, Tanjiro must survive seven days on Mt. Fujikasane. This is the final selection process for the Demon Slayer Corps. During this task, Tanjiro encounters the Hand Demon.
Tanjiro receives his first mission and arrives in a town where young girls have been vanishing at night. Using his sense of smell, Tanjiro tracks down and defeats the Swamp Demon. Afterward, he heads to Asakusa for a new mission but encounters Muzan Kibutsuji, who is living in disguise as an ordinary family man.
Muzan manages to escape from Tanjiro. Tamayo and Yushiro arrive at the scene and assist him. Later, when demons named Susamaru and Yahaba appear, Tanjiro defeats them with the help of Nezuko and Yushiro.
After that, Tanjiro meets Zenitsu, another demon slayer. Together, they set out to find a young boy who has been kidnapped by a demon. Tanjiro and Inosuke Hashibira fight the Tsuzumi Demon, while Zenitsu encounters a demon and loses consciousness, which reveals his true potential.
Tanjiro and Zenitsu manage to save the young boy who was kidnapped by a demon. Inosuke Hashibira joins the team, and they are sent to Mt. Natagumo, where they find a terrified demon slayer. The group of demon slayers has been captured and controlled by the Mother Spider Demon and her spider demons.
Tanjiro and Inosuke defeat the Mother Spider Demon and rescue their captured comrades. Meanwhile, Zenitsu defeats the elder brother of the Spider Demon family. Two Pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps, Giyu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho, arrive at the scene.
Tanjiro and Nezuko flee from Shinobu as she attacks Nezuko. They are subsequently captured by Kanao Tsuyuri and taken to the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters for questioning.
At the headquarters of the Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjiro explains his situation and swears that Nezuko will never harm humans. The Master of the Demon Slayers allows Tanjiro to continue traveling with Nezuko.
Everything returns to normal by the end of the season. A Kasugai crow delivers a mission to the group, instructing them to join Kyojuro Rengoku on the Infinity Train.
